Summer Bakin' Had Me A Blast !

The Summer has flown by, kids back in school and the leaves will be falling soon.
Thought I would share some of my summer projects....First there is the Island Cake....

I made this from a Betty Crocker Mix & Used, Fluffy White Vanilla Frosting (2 cans), I can I tinted with
Wilton Blue Food Gel......I then added crushed graham crackers for sand, and edible pearl dust for "water
effect". Palm trees I had from a previous Bakery Cake............................................................................

Fourth of July Cupcakes.....

These were fun, they kind of had a tie die effect. you spoon your food gels into the batter & layer before cooking....
Had a "mini reunion" with some friends that I hadn't seen in years, I cut myself short on time, so I went with the mini cupcake option...I used Wilton Icing & Colored Sugars...

Then my Favorites, For the end of the Summer Party. Cocktail Cupcakes & Cookies......

The Ultimate Sacrifice:
A Memorial Day Poem

We set aside Memorial Day
Each and every year
To honor those who gave their lives
Defending what we hold dear.

In all the dark and deadly wars,
Their graves prove and remind us,
Our brave Americans gave their all
To put danger far behind us.

They made the ultimate sacrifice
Fighting for the American way;
We admire them and respect them
On every Memorial Day.

Cupcakes & Ice Cream...Cookies

So I Love anything with Cupcakes. I see that "Cupcake Cookies" are the big trend right now. So I decided to Make and Ice Some Sugar Cookies. Wonderful Recipe found  HERE ~

I just used Wilton Icing in a Bottle and mixed it with some food gel to tint it pink, since it was my first Icing project.....hope to make some "Royal Icing" in the near future.......
And now for the Ice Cream.... Love using the white sugar, makes it look kinda frosty, dontcha think ?

Finally, after about 8 hours, they were complete. Know I understand why Bakeries charge as much as they do,LOL...................................................................................................................................................
